Sammy Watkins is a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, a perennial Super Bowl contender in the NFL. Watkins has been a member of five teams during his NFL career, and his biggest team success came in 2019 when he contributed to the Kansas City Chiefs winning Super Bowl LIV.
Sammy Watkins was drafted into the NFL by the Buffalo Bills as a wide-eyed, super-quick prospect from Clemson University. While he never truly lived up to what is expected of a fourth-overall pick, it would be unfair to say that Watkins hasn't had a decent NFL career thus far.
The pass catcher is in his ninth season in the NFL, and he signed a one-year $4 million contract with the Green Bay Packers to partake in his year nine season.

Sammy Watkin's fantasy outlook
Sammy Watkins has seen better days in the NFL Fantasy League, as he used to be one of fantasy players' favourite wide card picks during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, Watkins plays a much different role as a catch passer on the Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers. With the Packers, Watkins is the fourth wide receiver on their depth chart, and he is behind names such as Allen Lazard, Romeo Doubs, and Amari Rodgers on the depth chart.
This, as well as a hamstring injury he sustained on September 24, 2022, has limited Watkins to two games this season. He ranks as the 93rd-best receiver in the official NFL fantasy league. According to the rankings, he is the second-best receiver on the Green Bay Packers, behind the 49th-ranked Allen Lazard. Fantasy football players with Watkins should delay dropping him from their fantasy lineups, as the Clemson University alum was activated off the injured reserve list on October 22, 2022.
Is Sammy Watkins playing tonight?
The Green Bay Packers face off against the Washington Commanders in a Week Seven matchup at primetime. The Packers enter the match with a 3-3 record, while the Commanders enter the game with a 2-4 record. Additionally, the Packers have officially activated Watkins (hamstring) off injured reserve, and that makes for good reading for Watkins, his fantasy football owners, and his supporters.
Aaron Rodgers has already shown his appreciation for Watkins' deep threat catching ability, as so far this season he has targeted the former Los Angeles Ram a total of seven times, of which six of the passes have been caught for a return of 111 yards. Against the embattled Washington Commanders, you can expect those targets to increase.
Verdict: Sammy Watkins will suit up for the Green Bay Packers and play a significant role in the offence against the Washington Commanders.
