Is Saquon Barkley playing today vs. the Packers? Eagles RB's status revealed for playoff game vs. Packerss - Source: Imagn

The Philadelphia Eagles will begin their quest to win the Super Bowl with a stern test at home on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. The two teams have already met once this season. They battled in their season-opener in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where the Eagles won 34-29.

Philadelphia is the favorite to beat Green Bay again and advance to the divisional round. However, they know it won't be an easy task against a Packers team gunning for revenge.

The Eagles will need its stars, especially running back Saquon Barkley, to fire on all cylinders on Sunday. There were question marks about his status for the game against Green Bay. However, there's nothing to worry about for the Eagles.

Will Saquon Barkley play today vs. the Packers?

Saquon Barkley sat out of Philadelphia's regular-season finale against the New York Giants, prompting some speculation about his health. However, the team only benched him so he could be ready for their playoff opener.

The running back's name wasn't even featured on the team's injury report, suggesting he's fully healthy after a two-week break and ready to play in a postseason game for only the third time in his career.

Saquon Barkley stats: How has RB fared this season?

After being dropped by the Giants in the offseason, Saquon Barkley determined to prove them wrong for not believing in him.

He showcased his potential in the Eagles' season-opener against the Packers with a sensational three-touchdown performance. The running back rushed for 109 yards, caught two passes for 23 yards, and found the end zone three times.

Barkley continued to dominate and finished the year with 2,005 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 278 receiving yards on 33 catches and two receiving touchdowns in a historic campaign.

He had the chance to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing yard record of 2,105 in the Eagles' regular-season finale against the Giants. However, the coaching staff held him back to avoid risking an injury.

A well-rested Barkley is a scary prospect for the Packers and every other team in the playoffs. His performance will determine how far the Eagles venture in the postseason.
