Is Stefon Diggs getting traded? Jerry Jones' Cowboys among teams interested

2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games
Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills and AFC competes in the Best Catch event during the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games at Allegiant Stadium

With 108 receptions for over 1,400 yards and 11 TDs in 2022, Stefon Diggs had another fantastic season. Nevertheless, the season ended on a sour note as the 29-year-old was furious watching the Buffalo Bills lose 27-10 to the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs. This sparked some rumors that he might be dissatisfied with the way things are going and wants to be traded.

Jerry Jones' Cowboys will be seeking to make some adjustments after the season to come closer to winning a Super Bowl. The Cowboys' offense could be strengthened by Trevon Diggs' suggestion to trade for his brother Stefon.

With rumors concerning Stefon Diggs' future going around, the Dallas Cowboys are going to be a very interesting team to monitor.

Trevon has always discussed the possibility of working with his brother in Dallas, but given how crucial Stefon is to the Buffalo Bills; it would be difficult to pull off.

Recently, Stefon agreed to a four-year, $96 million contract extension; therefore, a Cowboys family link-up might be implausible.

The lack of additional elite receivers on the Bills' roster could be another issue that will make trading Stefon Diggs difficult. They could attempt to acquire one by trading, signing, or in the draft.

Yet, they already have one, and it makes much more sense to keep him content rather than part ways after just 50 regular-season games.

What can Stefon Diggs add to this Cowboys team?

There have been many persistent reports that the Cowboys plan to make a significant wideout acquisition. Stefon Diggs would make a much better signing than Odell Beckham Jr., who has also been linked.

Since the 1995 campaign, the Dallas Cowboys have not advanced to the NFC Championship Game. They were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round in 2022, continuing their dismal run.

The problem is that despite having a poor offense, Dallas' defensive unit had them challenging last term. The offensive unit looked like they didn’t know how to exploit the 49ers' defense in the Divisional Round game.

The Cowboys need to get another top-tier receiver to partner with CeeDee Lamb. This was made clear during the game.

The Cowboys will be getting one of the league's finest wide receivers if they can manage to sign Stefon Diggs. He has earned two NFL All-Pro selections in his last three seasons with the Bills, along with a second-team selection for the 2022 campaign.
