Sterling Sharpe played seven seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers. However, the wideout was forced to retire early following the 1994 season due to a neck injury.

According to reports, Sharpe has never been married and is still a bachelor in 2023.

However, the former NFL star has a daughter named Sommer who was born in November 1993. Sharpe has not disclosed the name of his child's mother.

Sterling Sharpe was born in Chicago to Pete Sharpe and Mary Alice Dixon. He grew up in Glennville, Georgia, with his grandparents and his two siblings, Sherra and Shannon.

Sterling graduated from Glennville High School and played as a running back, quarterback and linebacker. He was also a member of the basketball and track teams in school.

While attending the University of South Carolina, Sterling committed to football. He set school records at the time with 169 receptions and 2,497 receiving yards with 17 career touchdowns.

Sterling's younger brother Shannon also played in the NFL for 14 seasons. He won three Super Bowl rings during his time in the league, two of which came with the Denver Broncos while he earned one more with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Green Bay Packers picked Sterling Sharpe in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games in his rookie season and caught 55 passes for 791 yards and one touchdown.

Across seven seasons in the NFL with the Packers, Sharpe finished with 8,134 receiving yards on 595 receptions with 65 touchdowns. He also managed 72 rushing yards on 23 carries.

Sharpe earned five Pro Bowl honors and three First-team All-Pro honors during his time in the league. He also led the NFL three times in receptions and is a two-time receiving touchdowns leader.

Like many other footballers, Sharpe began working as an analyst after drawing curtains on his playing career.
