The NFL has a very rich history, and in that history are some of the legends who have stepped onto the turf at one point in time. Terry Bradshaw is one such legend who while winning so many accolades and Super Bowls for himself with his teammates also provided immense joy to fans all over the world. Bradshaw, who retired from the game in 1984, immediately turned to a broadcasting career in the league and has since continued to give back to the game much more than he has won from it.
As a player, Bradshaw led a Pittsburgh Steelers team that was extremely dominant during the 1970s, especially in the six-year period from 1974-1979. In that time frame, Bradshaw, the team’s starting quarterback led them to four Lombardi Trophies, while he won the Super Bowl MVP on two occasions.
All of the pleasures he has given to the fans on and off the field have earned him many followers and well wishers. Even to this day, there are ample people who can easily recall his playing days and what he meant mostly for the Steelers. After all, giving everything you have day in and day out to one organization for fourteen years is no easy task. Perhaps that is why so many fans are still anxious when it comes to news about his health.
What is Terry Bradshaw's current health condition?
At present, the 74-year-old former great is completely hale and hearty. A couple of years ago, Bradshaw was not in the best shape of his life and apparently, he had kept everyone in the dark with regards to his ongoing health issues.
Last season there were moments when fans were deeply concerned regarding the health of Terry Bradshaw. While on air working with the FOX network, it was evident that he was running out of breath while commenting on some plays from games. That is when a week later he confirmed the news to his fans on air that he was first suffering from bladder cancer in 2021.
After undergoing treatment and recovering from that, Bradshaw was then diagnosed with another form of cancer just a few months later. This time it was a very rare skin cancer called a Merkel cell tumor. Once again, he underwent treatment and surgery to get the tumor removed and had been recovering all this while.
Addressing his followers on air he stated that he is now cancer free. And the good news is that as of today Bradshaw is completely back on track and leading life to the fullest once again.
Terry Bradshaw’s other health issue
Another health issue which Bradshaw had raised just a couple of months ago was around the topic of mental depression in men. Speaking with Jay Glazer on his Unbreakable podcast, the four time Super Bowl Champion opened up about how he had faced this mental issue back in the day and he feels that men in general don’t speak about it because they believe it is a sign of weakness. However, Bradshaw insists that there is nothing to feel ashamed about and that the only weakness is if nothing is being done to overcome the situation.
Taking cues from his experiences, he further went on to state that it is extremely important for anyone facing panic attacks or other mental health issues to go and consult a doctor asap. The doctor can help you control the issues, or in some cases help prevent the occurrences altogether. Furthermore, he stated that before he went and sought out help, it was a very depressing time for him and that feeling bad is one thing but not knowing why you are feeling that way is another issue. Additionally, he also stated that in the end, when he finally learned the reason for his depression, it was one of the best moments of his life since he could not focus on tackling the problem head on.
After learning about various health issues of individuals, you come to understand that there is always so much going on in the background that we are unaware of. However, getting confirmation about Bradshaw’s current health status from the man himself is the best news his fans could have hoped for.
