Is Trevor Lawrence playing tonight? Jags QB's injury update for game vs. Chargers in NFL Playoffs

Jacksonville Jaguars v Houston Texans
Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars runs off the field after the game against the Houston Texans

The NFL postseason begins with two of the league's top young quarterbacks - Jacksonville Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence and Los Angeles Chargers' Justin Herbert - scheduled to face off.

However, five players of the Jaguars have been labelled doubtful for this game, notably quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Jaguars can't risk not starting Trevor Lawrence at this crucial juncture in the campaign. The former No. 1 pick will likely start and follow his usual plan of attack, despite the possibility that he may be under the weather.

Despite frequently being listed on the injury report since breaking his toe a few weeks ago, during a meeting against the Detroit Lions, he has not yet missed a game.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were 3-7 in late November. They looked a long road away from the division-leading Tennessee Titans. It was obvious they had to turn the situation around and fast.

Lawrence had a good chance of losing his composure or possibly giving up. Instead, he and the Jaguars recovered and won six of their next seven games to win the AFC South. The youngest passer in this season's postseason field is Lawrence, at 23 years old.

Battle of the quarterbacks - Trevor Lawrence vs. Justin Herbert: How do they stack up?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have returned to the postseason for the first time in five years. With a 9-8 record, the Jaguars were able to secure the AFC South and the fourth seed in the AFC thanks to a late push and a Tennessee Titans disaster.

Justin Herbert, 24, and Lawrence, 23, are both close in age. Both have youthful, powerful arms that they employ to hit long-pocket throws, and both have the potential to become elite quarterbacks.

The Jags triumphed over Los Angeles 38-10 on the road when the teams previously faced off in the third round of games. Lawrence had a strong outing in that match, passing for 262 yards and three scores.

Herbert, however, finished with 297 yards, one TD pass, and one INT. It is important to mention that Herbert's participation in the game was restricted due to a rib issue.
