The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 27 for the AFC Championship title and a spot in the Super Bowl. But before Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes collide at Arrowhead Stadium, a Patrick Mahomes fan uploaded a video reminding everyone why Mahomes is considered an elite QB.

The fan uploaded an old clip of Mahomes after the latter’s loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship game of the 2018-19 season with the caption,

“Here’s Mahomes following his loss to Tom Brady in 2018-19. Compare to the comments from Texans and Stroud yesterday and it’s all you need to see to understand why Mahomes is another level. Physical talent is one thing but he’s consistently elite mentally as well.”

While addressing the press conference after the loss, Mahomes said,

“Yeah, I mean, first of all, every team’s gonna be different year on year but at the same time we’ve got a lot of young guys in this team. I mean it hurts, it hurts everybody. We knew, we had the opportunity to win this game. And this season we put in the work but this can be a building block. It can be something that carries us in the future. Right now, it’s the end but hopefully it’s just the beginning of a long-term.”

Tom Brady showcases his clutch-game skills to upset Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes’ comments were about the 37-31 loss they suffered at the hands of Tom Brady’s Patriots on Jan 20, 2019, for the AFC Championship. It also halted their dream run toward their first Super Bowl appearance in decades.

Although the game featured a lot of see-saw moments, the Chiefs came from a deficit of 14-0 in the second half to take the game into overtime. However, Brady denied Mahomes an opportunity to touch the ball after carefully orchestrating a 13-play, 75-yard drive for another touchdown, once again showcasing his skills as a clutch-game performer.

Despite a close loss, Mahomes appeared calm and humble while appreciating Brady’s greatness. In comparison, Texans’ QB, CJ Stroud appeared unpleased by the close referee calls during their loss to the Chiefs last week. Hence, fans called Mahomes an elite-level QB since he displayed maturity at a young age by accepting his loss and promising to improve.

Since that loss, the Chiefs have featured in four Super Bowls, winning three, and are now on the verge of achieving a three-peat. They have also appeared in every AFC Championship game since then.
