J.K. Dobbins has sounded the alarms for the LA Chargers ahead of their Saturday matchup. The AFC West squad is set to face the Houston Texans in the wild-card round of the 2024 NFL playoffs, and Dobbins may not be available to clash with C.J. Stroud and Co.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that Dobbins and wide receiver Quentin Johnston are listed as questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Texans. Dobbins is dealing with an ankle issue, while Johnston was added to the injury report with a thigh issue.
Losing these two players could have a big impact on the Chargers' chances of defeating a dangerous Texans squad, but there is still time to determine whether they will be good to go.

J.K. Dobbins injury update: What happened to Chargers RB?
J.K. Dobbins was activated off injured reserve ahead of the New England Patriots game following a knee sprain against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 25. Dobbins was limited on Tuesday and Wednesday before being a full participant in Thursday's practice session last week.
This week, however, the issue is with his ankle, and it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to take the field on Saturday.
Besides Dobbins and Johnston, cornerback Eli Apple, wide receiver Simi Fehoko, linebacker Denzel Perryman and guard/tackle Trey Pipkins III were listed as questionable for this matchup. Defensive back Ja'Sir Taylor was listed as doubtful, while wide receiver Joshua Palmer was ruled out.
The positive news for the Chargers is that running back Gus Edwards was a full participant after being listed as limited on Tuesday and Wednesday. He has no designation for this game, along with Zion Johnson and Rashawn Slater.
In addition, the Chargers signed Ezekiel Elliott after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran running back isn’t as explosive as before, but his ability in short-yardage situations can help the Chargers.
As for J.K. Dobbins, he finished the season on a strong note, rushing for 76 and 63 yards in the last two games of the regular season and securing two major wins that confirmed the Chargers would play more January football.
The 26-year-old carried the ball 195 times this season, racking up 905 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. The Chargers secured second place in the AFC West standings (11-7), only behind the 15-2 Kansas City Chiefs.
Justin Herbert is heating up at the right time, but having J.K. Dobbins out there would be major for the Chargers.
