Ja’Maar Anthony Chase is an American football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2024 NFL season. The Bengals selected Chase as the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Chase recorded 370 receptions for 5,130 yards and 44 touchdowns, as of Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season. Notably, in his first season, he won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Chase has been to the Pro Bowl every year since entering the NFL.

Chase stayed in his home state for college when he enrolled at Louisiana State University, where he played three years for the Tigers. Chase received the Fred Biletnikoff Award and was also received First-team All-SEC and Unanimous All-American honors in 2019, when he helped LSU become a national champion. During his collegiate career, Chase recorded 107 receptions for 2,093 yards and 23 touchdowns (via Sports Reference).

Ja’Maar Chase’s playoff record stands at 5-2, as of December 2024. Chase’s first playoff game came against the Las Vegas Raiders in the wild-card round of the 2021 season. Chase had 9 receptions for 116 yards in that game, which Cincinnati went on to win 26-19. His second game came against the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round, where he caught 5 passes for 109 yards and the Bengals came out victorious, 19-16. He was limited to just 54 yards on 6 receptions against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. However, Cincinnati won the game 27-24. Chase and Bengals' dream run to the Super Bowl came to an end when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Bengals 23-20 in the Super Bowl LVI. His postseason run continued in his sophomore season, as he played in 3 postseason games in 2022. His best performance came against Bengals divisional opponent Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card Round, when he caught 9 passes for 84 yards, where the Bengals won the game 24-17. He had 61 receiving yards in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills, which Cincinnati won 27-10. However, Chase and Bengals could not repeat their previous season's playoff run, as they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2022 AFC Championship game by 3 points (via Pro Football Reference).
