Ja'Marr Chase is one of the best overall players to target. He has been consistent, surpassing 80 receptions in all three of his seasons and totaling 29 touchdowns along the way. He has done so despite missing six games with injuries and quarterback Joe Burrow missing time as well.
With both of them healthy during his rookie season three years ago, Chase posted a career-high WR5 finish. He still finished as a WR on most fantasy rosters in his other two seasons, despite the injuries. This makes him an excellent player to target in the first round of fantasy drafts.
Ja'Marr Chase 2024 fantasy outlook, ADP and 2023 stats
Despite a career-low WR13 finish in 2023, Chase had a terrific season. In fact, he set career highs with 100 receptions and 145 targets, but his career-low seven touchdowns were the primary cause for his drop in overall ranking. This is partly due to a weaker offense without Burrow.
The Bengals superstar currently ranks as the WR4 and seventh overall player in fantasy football drafts this year, according to his current ADP. This puts him among the top players to draft this year, as he is unlikely to get out of the first round.
Is Ja'Marr Chase a good pick in fantasy football this year?
Many factors indicate that Chase is an excellent pick in 2024 fantasy football. In his only full season with Burrow, he ranked as the overall WR5. In two seasons where one of them was shortened by injuries, he still finished as the WR12 and WR13.
The rest of the Bengals' offensive situation this year could also benefit Chase's fantasy outlook. Tee Higgins is involved in trade rumors with his contract situation and the team also moved on from Joe Mixon. This could potentially mean more passing plays and possibly less target competition.
Where should you draft Ja'Marr Chase this year?
His current ADP ranks Chase as the WR4 and seventh overall player in 2024 fantasy football. This means that he profiles as a WR1 who can be targeted in the middle of the first round for fantasy drafts. He is one of the best options in this spot, as he truly has the potential to be the WR1 this season.
Sportskeeda's Who Should I Draft tool suggests picking Chase in favor of many other wide receivers this year. This includes AJ Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Justin Jefferson. This shows his elite fantasy value with one of the highest ceilings and safest floors of any player this year.
