Ja'Marr Chase continues to be dominant in 2024. He is one of just two players to have at least a thousand receiving yards so far, and he is well ahead of the pack when it comes to receiving touchdowns.

He had one goal in mind on Monday at the Dallas Cowboys: help the Cincinnati Bengals win and improve their playoff prospects. Surpassing Justin Jefferson in the receiving yards charts was just an added bonus.

Did he achieve both those goals?

Ja'Marr Chase stats tonight vs. Cowboys

Here is a look at Ja'Marr Chase's stats from last night:

  • Receptions: 14
  • Receiving yards: 177
  • Receiving touchdowns: 2
  • Rushing attempts: 1
  • Rushing yards: 14

With this performance, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year puts himself ahead of Justin Jefferson in the receiving yards race and ties his personal best for most touchdowns in a season. And most importantly, he kept the Bengals’ faint playoff hopes alive.

But he was not alone in contributing to the victory. The Bengals had entered the 2024 season with low expectations in the ground game after trading Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans, but Chase Brown has proven to be a gem.

The Canadian carried the ball only 14 times for 58 yards, but he made the most of his opportunities in the air. He caught six passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.

In fact, only one Bengal did not hit double-digit yards: Khalil Herbert. However, he gained 67 yards in the two kickoff returns that he managed to bring from the spot of the catch.

The next target for Chase is a triple crown: most receptions, most receiving yards, and most touchdowns (potentially including the franchise single-season record, currently held by Carl Pickens). He said in a press conference before the game:

"I'm in my own lane. It's not a race, but a marathon."

But the most important goal is returning the team to the playoffs, and that task continues at the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Including that, they need to win the next four and hope that other results go in their favor.
