Jacoby JaJuan Brissett is an American football quarterback for the New Engalnd Patriots in the NFL. The Patriots selected Brissett as the 91st pick in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He won a Super Bowl in his rookie year, starting two regular games and going with a record of 1-1. After just one year at the Patriots, he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.. Brissett became a regular in his second season in the NFL, as he started 15 games and finished with a record of 4-11. After four years and 46 appearances, Brissett was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2021. After playing two one-year stints for the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders respectively, Brissett rejoined the New England Patriots for the 2024 NFL season.
Growing up in Florida, Brissett attended William T. Dwyer High School. He was ranked as a four-star recruit by Rivals and was ranked third in his class. Brissett committed to his home Florida State University in February 2011. After spending two seasons, Brissett transferred to North Carolina State in 2013. With an efficiency rating of 136.7, Brissett is fifth-best in North Carolina State's history for a single season. According to North Carolina's official website, Brissett appeared in 25 games throwing 431 passes for 5,059 yards and 42 touchdowns during his two-year tenure with the college.
