Jaire Alexander is an American football cornerback for the Green Bay Packers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Packers selected him with the 18th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Alexander has risen to become one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks. He's racked up 287 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 70 pass deflections, 12 interceptions, and 1 defensive touchdown as of Week 11, 2024. Alexander has twice been nominated to both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro Second Team. He was also named the 2018 PFWA All-Rookie Team.

He was born on February 9, 1997, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is 27 years old (as of November 2024). Alexander attended Rocky River High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina, where he played for the Ravens. He first committed to the University of South Carolina but later switched to the University of Louisville.

Alexander attended and played college football at the University of Louisville from 2015-2017. Alexander made an immediate impression as a true freshman in 2015, appearing in 10 games and notching 1 interception, while also handling punt return duties.

Alexander kicked his play into another gear during a breakout 2016 sophomore season. He started all 13 games for Louisville, leading the team with 5 interceptions. He earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2016. His following Junior season was disrupted by related injuries, even though Alexander starred in the 6 games he managed to play.

In three collegiate seasons, Alexander compiled 77 total tackles, 7 interceptions, 15 passes defended, 1 punt return TD, and 1 forced fumble. His playmaking prowess in all phases marked him as an enticing NFL prospect.
