Jake Browning is an active American football player who is currently playing at the quarterback position for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. Recently, the Cincinnati Bengals have made a decision and named Browning as their starting quarterback, following a season-ending wrist injury to the starting QB Joe Burrow.

Browning was born in Folsom, California. Growing up in his birthplace, he attended Folsom High School. At Folsom, he broke the national record with 229 touchdowns, completing 1,191 of 1,708 attempts for 16,775 yards. As a senior, he set a new national record by throwing 91 touchdown passes. During both his junior and senior years, he received the title of Gatorade Football Player of the Year. Browning established himself both academically and as an athlete. Not only did he set national and state records, but he also earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Concluding his high school career, he committed to playing college football at the University of Washington. Continuing his remarkable performance throughout his collegiate career, Browning garnered numerous accolades and records. Some of his notable achievements include earning the title of 2016 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and First-team all-Pac-12. Additionally, he finished in sixth place in the 2016 Heisman Trophy voting.

In 2019, the Minnesota Vikings signed Browning as an undrafted free agent. However, after waiving him during the 2020 season’s final roster cuts, the Vikings brought him back in January 2021 on a reserve/future contract. Subsequently, the Cincinnati Bengals signed him to the practice squad after the Vikings released him.

Jake Browning Age

Browning is 27 years old as of November 2023. He was born on 11 April 1996.

In recent times, he finally got to play against the Browns in the fourth quarter during the regular season. In week 11, he relieved injured Burrow against the Ravens, completing 8-of-14 passing attempts for 68 yards and a touchdown. While being on the practice squad for both the Vikings and Bengals, Browning has never had the chance to demonstrate his potential in real game time. However, with Burrow sidelined, the entire squad is counting on the young quarterback.

How Tall is Jake Browning?

Browning is 6 feet 2 inches or 1.88 meters tall and he weighs around 210 lb or 95 kg.

After spending his initial two NFL seasons on the Viking’s practice squads, he was signed to the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad in 2021. In 2022 he signed a reserve/future contract, but in August 2022 he was waived, only to be signed to the practice squad again on the next day.

In January 2023, he signed a one-year reserve/future contract with the Bengals worth $750,000, which is his average annual salary. Browning competed and won against Trevor Siemian to become the Bengals’ backup quarterback before ultimately being named as the starter. If he succeeds in establishing himself as a reliable quarterback during the 2023 campaign, he is likely to earn more money in future.
