The Las Vegas Raiders recently traded star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets. Now, the team might be without Jakobi Meyers, who's expected to be the new WR1, for a pivotal Week 7 matchup with the LA Rams.

For the second consecutive day on Thursday, Meyers was a nonparticipant in the Raiders practice, according to the team's injury report. His ankle ailment has already kept him out of multiple sessions, so it's increasingly unlikely that he'll be ready for the upcoming game.

On Friday, there have been multiple reports that Meyers won't practice again and will be given a doubtful designation to play in Week 7.

Meyers' potential absence from the Raiders' encounter against the Rams would be devastating for an offense that will require every bit of support going forward. After trading Davante Adams to the Jets, Las Vegas is already in dire need of offensive playmakers, and Meyers being unavailable on Sunday even makes the situation worse for them.

Tre Tucker and DJ Turner will have to fill in as Las Vegas' main wide receivers if Meyers isn't available this week. Additionally, this would increase the reliance on rookie tight end Brock Bowers to contribute significantly on offense.

Jakobi Meyers injury update: What happened to the Raiders WR?

Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders was only able to log one limited practice session last week as the team got ready to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6 due to an ankle injury he suffered in Week 5. He was initially designated as questionable for that game before he was downgraded to "doubtful" a day before kickoff.

He was eventually ruled as an inactive for the game, which the Raiders lost.

When speaking to the media earlier this week, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that Meyers tried everything he could to play against the Steelers. Pierce continued by saying that he is still optimistic about the receiver's chances of playing in Week 7.

Meyers hasn't participated in practice this week again and has reportedly been listed as doubtful to suit up against the LA Rams on Sunday. This will be the second straight game that the Raiders offense will be without their top wide receiver.

When fit, WR1 Meyers should see a more consistent amount of wide receiver targets and snaps in the Raiders offensive system as the season goes on.
