Jalen Alexander Hurts is an American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles as of the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles chose him with the 53rd overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2022, Hurts earned Second-team All-Pro honors and was selected to the Pro Bowl in both 2022 and 2023. He also won the Bert Bell Award in 2022.

As a college athlete, Hurts played for both the University of Alabama (2016–2018) and the University of Oklahoma (2019). According to Sports Reference, he recorded 9,477 passing yards, 80 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. He won the CFP National Championship with Alabama in 2017 and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year in 2016. After transferring to Oklahoma, he was named Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2019. Before committing to Alabama, he played football at Channelview High School in Channelview, Texas.

According to Draftsharks, Hurts experienced a Grade 3 high ankle sprain in November 2021. He also suffered a shoulder S/C joint separation in December 2022 and a finger dislocation in January 2024. In October 2018, while playing in college, Hurts sustained another Grade 3 high ankle sprain.

Pedal Ankle (high) Sprain (2021)

During Week 12 of the 2021 season, Hurts injured his ankle in a game against the New York Giants, causing him to miss the next game against the New York Jets. Hurts returned after the bye week for a Week 15 game against Washington, leading the team to a 27–17 win.

Hurts concluded the season with 3,144 passing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Shoulder S/C Joint Separation (2022)

In the 2022 season, Hurts played through an injury in Week 15 against the Bears. The following day, it was revealed that he had sprained his throwing shoulder, which caused him to miss the next two games.

Despite the injury, Hurts returned in Week 18 and led the Eagles to a 22–16 win over the New York Giants.

Hand Finger Dislocation (2023)

In Week 18 of the 2023 season, Hurts dislocated his right middle finger in a game against the Giants, and was taken out of the game in the second half.

Head Cranial Concussion (2024)

On December 22, 2024, Jalen Hurts suffered a Grade 1 concussion in the first quarter of Week 16's game against the Commanders and missed two games.

Knee Unspecified Strain (2025)

On January 19, 2025, Jalen Hurts was checked for a potential leg injury in the third quarter of the divisional-round win over the Rams due to a Grade 1 knee strain, but he didn’t miss a snap.
