Jalen Hurts sounded the alarms when he exited the Washington Commanders duel on Sunday early with a head injury. The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Commanders for a big part of the game, but they couldn't keep their advantage, ultimately losing to the capital team after rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels found Jamison Crowder with a nine-yard pass to call game with six seconds on the clock.
Philadelphia could now lose the NFC East title at the hands of the Commanders, and having Hurts out for Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys would hurt their chances to stay away from the Commanders.
After being listed as DNP (which stands for "did not practice") on Wednesday, fans started speculating about his status for Sunday and the team's latest update wasn't more promising.
Jalen Hurts injury update: Should fantasy managers be concerned about Eagles star QB?
On Thursday, nothing changed for Jalen Hurts. NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Hurts was again listed as DNP due to his concussion.

During a 13-yard run on the Eagles' second series of the Commanders matchup, Hurts was tackled by Bobby Wagner. The Eagles led the game 7-0 at that point and Hurts put them in a good position to score, as Kenny Pickett and AJ Brown scored another touchdown to extend the league early on in the game.
Friday will be the last opportunity Hurts will have to show that he's healthy and ready to go against the Cowboys, but after missing two straight practices, it's unlikely that he'll return to the field in Week 17. His absence would be a devastating blow to fantasy football managers who have Hurts during the playoffs.
Alongside Jalen Hurts, RB Will Shipley was also listed as DNP while AJ Brown, Nakobe Dean, and Josh Sweat were limited participants in Thursday's session.
Who would replace Jalen Hurts against the Cowboys?
If Hurts can't take the field on Sunday, third-year quarterback Kenny Pickett will be under center for the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore lauded the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback for his performance against the Commanders, considering he suddenly entered the game.
"I thought Kenny responded really well as far as just hopping in there," Moore said, per Sports Illustrated. "I thought the way he handled the first drive, he hopped in there, it was a third-and-7, and converted. Resulted in a touchdown that drive."
The Eagles are still in control of their fate, but another defeat would give the Commanders a serious chance to snatch the top spot in the division in the regular season finale.
