The 2022 NFL regular season has just one more gameday left, and the stage is set for Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes and co.
As is tradition around this time of the season, there are discussions about who deserves the NFL MVP Award for the year. Like last year, any of the favorites have a great shot at winning, and their teams have similar records.
This year, the MVP award will likely go to a quarterback for the umpteenth time. Some critics might write off the award as the most valuable quarterback award rather than the most valuable player, but we don't care.
Elite QBs win you ball games, and these three have been pivotal to their teams winning many of these games. So without further ado, here are three NFL MVP favorites and compelling arguments as to why each of them deserves to take the trophy home.

Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes: Who deserves to be the 2022 NFL MVP?
#1 - The case for Patrick Mahomes winning the 2022 NFL MVP Award
Patrick Mahomes has had arguably the best six-year start to an NFL career by a quarterback in history. You name it, Patrick Mahomes has won it - a Super Bowl, multiple Pro Bowl selections, All-Pro honors, and 4000+ yard seasons, the Texas Tech alum has racked up the accolades. This season has been as special as his 2018 MVP-winning year, with the Year Six QB leading the Kansas City Chiefs to yet another AFC West Division title.
Mahomes has had a solid statistical season with a stat line of 5,048 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 2022.
#2 - The case for Josh Allen winning the 2022 NFL MVP Award
Despite the numerous injuries they've suffered, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have been as dominant as most analysts predicted they'd be.
The Bills have played most of their matches shorthanded at the defensive side of the ball, but they currently possess the joint-best record in the AFC. A lot of that success comes from Josh Allen's connection with Stefon Diggs, with both players being among the best at their positions.
However, we are focusing on Allen here and how he is performing better than last season, which has people calling for him to be included in the MVP conversation.
Allen is having a great season statistically, with the Wyoming University alum putting up a solid stat line. He has totaled 4,029 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 2022.
#3 - The case for Jalen Hurts winning the 2022 NFL MVP Award.
Then there's Jalen Hurts, the shot caller for the best team in the league for most of the 2022 season. Hurts has been on a roll, with the third-year Pro earning a starting berth in this year's Pro Bowl.
Hurts has showcased his array of skill moves, and he is as dangerous in the air as he is on the ground. The only thing that might slightly hurt his MVP quest is his two missed games in the last two weeks due to a shoulder injury. However, in the games he's played, he is head and shoulders above the rest of the players in his position.
Hurts has a majestic statistical category, putting up video game-like numbers in the process. He is putting up a stat line of 3,472 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, and five interceptions. He is also racking up 747 rush attempts and 13 touchdowns in 2022.
Who deserves it the most out of the three elite QBs?
As far as the current NFL MVP race is concerned, either of the three above could win the MVP award. Mahomes, Allen, and Hurts have had stunning seasons, with each leading their teams to elite seasons, but there must be one winner.
Jalen Hurts deserves it the most, though, with the year three QB leading the Eagles to a surprise 13-3 record heading into Week 18 of the 2022 NFL season. This is due to Hurts, his O-line, and some elite coaching. Hurts winning the league MVP award will be the cherry on top, especially with the quarterback on a rookie contract.
