Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts willed his team to a 34-29 win against the Green Bay Packers to start the 2024 NFL season on the right foot. Both NFC teams starred in the league's first-ever Brazil game, putting on a show at Arena Corinthians in an entertaining showdown.

Hurts' performance wasn't the best, despite his two touchdown passes. The miscommunication with his center Cam Jurgens cost the Eagles a turnover close to their red zone early in the game. In addition, he threw two interceptions and was sacked twice.

Even after that, he bounced back and kept fighting throughout the game. Getting three touchdowns from Saquon Barkley also helped the Eagles confirm the win against a tough opponent.

Hurts and the Eagles' offensive line didn't have the best start to the game and the development of the game cast doubt on the former Alabama signal-caller. Despite his struggles throwing the ball, Hurts helped the Eagles secure the win against a dangerous opponent, but it's clear he has more work to do this year.

Jalen Hurts’ stats and game log tonight

Jalen Hurts didn't have the best end to the 2023 NFL season. He couldn't keep up the good level of performance after a strong start, losing five of the last six regular-season games.

This season, Hurts showed that he can bounce back from bad starts and contribute to his team's victory. He attempted 34 passes, completing 20 of them. Hurts threw for 278 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while having an 80.3 passer rating.

The Eagles got the 34-29 win after a tumultuous start and a complex ending. They secured the win with a field goal to put the final number on the scoreboard, 34-29.

Saquon Barkley was the best partner Hurts could find today. He carried the ball 24 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. If that wasn't enough, Barkley caught two passes from Hurts for 23 yards and another touchdown.

The Eagles were considered a favorite to make it to the Super Bowl last season, but their inconsistency ruined their plans and ended their season in the wild-card round. Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni and more staffers are under the spotlight to start this season.

If Philly wants to return to the big game, they must avoid the same mistakes from last season and Hurts needs to show a different face moving forward. This is only Week 1 and the Eagles showed interesting things. Time will tell if they have what it takes to challenge for the Vince Lombardi.
