How much is Jamaal Williams earning playing for the Detroit Lions?

Jamaal Williams plays the running back position for the NFL' franchise, the Detroit Lions. Williams is in the final year of a $6,000,000 contract with the Lions.

The sixth-year backfield specialist signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Lions on March 18, 2021. The contract value is $6 million, with $3.25 million guaranteed. Williams can earn $500,000 through incentives and up to $1 million in salary escalators in 2022.

Thr 27-year-old will likely command a much bigger contract once he hits free agency in the 2023 off-season. He, alongside Josh Jacobs, will be the cream of the crop in free-agent running backs in the coming months.

How did Jamaal Williams perform this season?

Jamaal Williams had the best season of his six-year NFL career, which included four years at the Green Bay Packers. He was drafted into the NFL as the 134th overall pick in the 2017 Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

Williams saw the pros and cons of being drafted into a surefire playoff contender in his first season. He did not get as many rushing attempts as he might have hoped for, but he was always sure of making the NFL postseason as a Packer.

The talented RB left the Packers in free agency four years later and joined the league's basement side, the Detroit Lions. Williams has been a revelation in Detroit since making the move, and has quickly become the team's number one option at RB.

This season has been the best of his young career, as he has balled out for the entirety of the 2022 NFL season. Williams is putting on a solid stat line of 262 rush attempts, 1,066 rushing yards, and 17 rushing touchdowns (league-leading number). He has appeared in all seventeen games this season.
