On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills welcomed the New England Patriots to Highmark Stadium in the first of two meetings between the two divisional rivals in the final three weeks of the season.
The Patriots came into the game 3-12 and with nothing to lose. Their sole purpose for the rest of the season is to look as competitive as possible, protect quarterback Drake Maye, and allow him as many reps as he can muster to develop.
On the flip side, the Bills had everything to play for. A loss would have ended their quest to finish as the top seed in the AFC. Josh Allen's bid to win the MVP award would have also taken a massive.
Buffalo needed a win desperately and for that to happen, stars like James Cook had to step up and deliver against a determined division rival.

In the third quarter, the veteran leveled the score with a five-yard touchdown catch on 3rd-and-goal.

This was the fourth time in his career that he finished a game with a receiving and a rushing touchdown. It was also his fourth game of the season with 100 rushing yards, with three coming in the last four. Buffalo needed Cook to deliver and he did not disappoint. The Bills are now 12-3 and still have a small glimmer of hope of stealing the top seed from the Chiefs.
