James Robinson is an American footballer who plays as a running back for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). Robinson's career began in the year 2020 when he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after the NFL draft in 2020.

He signed a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on April 27, 2020, and in a match against the Indianapolis Colts, he made his NFL debut where in the following match he recorded sixteen carries for 62 rushing yards and a reception as the Jaguars won 27-20 and set the record for most rushing yards for an undrafted rookie. He showcased his capabilities week after week and was named the Offensive Rookie of the Month for his performance. In a match against the Los Angeles Chargers, he had 22 carries for 119 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown with four receptions for 18 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Robinson is the fourth undrafted participant in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in his rookie season and ranked 100th by his team members on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021 listing.

In 2022 the Jaguars traded Robinson to the New York Jets and he played in four games for the rest of the season for the Jets. After playing for one season with the Jets he signed a deal of two years with the New England Patriots worth $8 million in 2023. However, on June 12 he was released by the New England Patriots Later it was mentioned that the Jets had concerns about his health. He signed a new contract deal with the New York Giants on July 21, 2023, and is still with them.

James Robinson was born in Rockford, Illinois on August 9, 1998 Currently he is 25 years old. The player first came into the NFL when he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguar at the age of 22.

Before his journey in the NFL began Robinson played college football with the Illinois State Redbirds football team at Illinois State University. In his freshman year in 2016, he played in nine games and missed three games due to a calf injury, he finished his debut season as the Redbirds' third leading rusher. In his sophomore year in 2017, he became the team's starting running back and was named first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC). Robinson rushed for 1,290 yards and 12 touchdowns in his junior season and was again named first-team All-MVFC as well as a first-team All-American by Phil Steele. Due to his brilliant performance in his senior year, he was named consensus first-team FCS All-American and selected for the first-team All-Conference for the third straight season.

James Robinson has played for three seasons in the NFL and in his short career thus far he has not shown any signs of slowing down. Robinson has showcased his brilliant performance in each and every game he has played. He weighs around 99 kg and is 5 feet 9 inches tall.
