Jared Goff is a professional American football player who plays as a quarterback in the NFL. His professional career began in 2016 when he was selected by the Los Angeles Rams. Goff was selected as the first overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL draft of 2016 and was the second Rams quarterback who was picked as the first overall in six years. In June 2016, Goff signed a deal of four years with the Los Angeles Rams worth $27.9 million. In his debut match against the Miami Dolphins, he was named Rams starting quarterback after spending his first nine games as the backup.

In the 2019 season, he was part of the victory against the Indianapolis Colts which was his first professional win in the NFL. Goff kept on improving his game week after week and after a brilliant season, he was ranked 38th by his team members on the list of Top 100 Players of NFL 2018. In the 2019 season, Goff signed a new contract extension for four years worth $134 million and in the following season he performed excellently week after week for the Rams. He finished the following season with 4,638 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions to go along with 40 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

In 2021, the Los Angeles Rams decided to trade Goff to the Detroit Lions. In a match against the San Francisco 49ers, he played his first game for the Detroit Lions. In the following match, he recorded 38 of 57 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Goff, despite missing a few games due to being on the COVID-19 reserve list, finished his first season with the Lions with 3,245 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

In the 2022 season, he played his first game of the season against Philadelphia Eagles in a loss of 38-35 he threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Goff because of his excellent performance throughout the following season was nominated for the third Pro Bowl. He has continued his stellar play with the Lions and is currently leading the team deep into the playoffs. The 2023 season was a success for both Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions as not only did Goff throw for the second-most yards in the league (4,575), but his stellar play in the postseason (4:0 TD: INT ratio) gave the Detroit Lions fanbase their first taste of NFC Championship game since way back in 1991.

In his freshman year in 2013, he was named the starting quarterback. He finished his sophomore season with 3,973 yards and 35 touchdowns. In his junior year in 2015, he earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors because of his performance. After having a great junior season Goff announced that he would not be playing in his senior year and instead would be entering the NFL draft of 2016.

Goff was born in Novata, California on October 14, 1994, and is 29 years old as of September 2024. Goff's father is a former Major League Baseball player. Goff has an enzyme deficiency so it's hard for his body to break down proteins. He also has his own personal clothing brand and married his longtime best friend Christen Harper in 2024.
