Jayden Daniels is an American football quarterback for the Washington Commanders as of the 2024 NFL season. The Washington Commanders selected him as the 2nd overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Californian native has played in 10 games, passing for 2147 yards, 13 total touchdowns, and a 101.7 passer rating through the first ten games of the 2024 NFL season. Born on December 18, 2000, he went to Cajon High School in 2015, and after graduating four years later as a four-star prospect, he chose Arizona State University in 2019, though he transferred to Louisiana State University in 2022.

Being the first athlete in FBS history to record 12,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards during his college career, Daniels in 2023 was awarded the Walter Camp, Davey O'Brien, and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, together with winning the Heisman Trophy. Furthermore, he was awarded both the AP College Football Player of the Year and the SN College Football Player of the Year. During the same season, he was also selected as a consensus all-American.

Daniels threw at LSU's Pro Day in Baton Rouge rather than participate in any other athletic testing, such as a 40-yard dash. Both LSU receivers, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr., registered marks in the 4.3-second area during the pre-draft process; however, Daniels told NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe afterward that he believes he could have run quicker.

Daniels' pro-day script was put together with assistance from private quarterback coach Taylor Kelly, who helped the LSU product complete 52 of his 56 passes. The majority of his misfires occurred on deeper passes and throws outside the numbers, along with a few more slightly off-target attempts.
