
Jayden Reed is an American football wide receiver and punt returner for the Green Bay Packers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Packers selected him with the 50th overall pick from the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2023, he signed a four-year rookie contract with the Packers valued at $7,180,778 (according to Spotrac). He made his NFL debut against the Chicago Bears and concluded his rookie season with 64 receptions for 793 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing over 180 pounds, Reed played the wide receiver position for both the Western Michigan Broncos and Michigan State Spartans at the collegiate level. Born and raised in Illinois, Reed began his football career at Metea Valley High School, where he played football for the school’s team. Later, he transferred to Naperville Central High School for his senior year. In 2017, he was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Team MVP. He wrapped up his high school career with 60 receptions for 1,792 yards with 20 touchdowns.

Reed initially committed to playing college football for Western Michigan University. Following the 2018 season, he announced his decision to leave Western Michigan and transferred to Michigan State University, where he played from 2019 to 2022. Reed graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication in December 2021.
Speaking of his football career at Western Michigan University, he finished the 2018 season with 56 receptions, 797 receiving yards and secured 8 touchdowns (via Sports Reference). For his performance throughout the season, he was named a freshman All-American and earned. second-team All-Mid-American Conference honors.
Eventually, he transferred to MSU and due to NCAA transfer rules, he did not play in the 2019 season. In the following season, he caught 33 passes for 407 yards and recorded three touchdowns.
In the 2021 season, he played 13 games and finished the season with career-high statistics, recording 59 receptions, 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He concluded his collegiate career with 55 receptions for 636 yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, he earned a spot on the Second-team All-Big Ten in both 2021 and 2022.
