Jaylen Waddle

Jaylen Waddle, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, has most recently received a contract extension in March 2024, a three-year deal worth $84.75 million, the reason for which is his explosive performance in the past three seasons with the team, since 2021. He has played in 47 games, recording 251 receptions for 3,385 yards and 18 touchdowns. The former is more than 1000 yards in every season; further, in 2022, he had an average per reception rate of 18.1, which is not only his career high but also that season's highest by any wide receiver.

The four-star recruit went to the Episcopal High School, following which Waddle got enrolled at the University of Alabama in 2018. In his debut season, he was the SEC Freshman of the Year, and the following season, he was the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and he was also named for the first-team All-SEC. He was also named for the second-team All-SEC and the CFP National Champion in 2020. Regardless, he forgoed his senior year for the 2021 NFL Draft, and got selected by the Miami Dolphins.

Waddle's 40-yard dash time is 4.37 seconds, recorded unofficially. Unfortunately, though, he decided to skip the 2021 NFL Combine, and therefore the speedster does not have an official 40-yard time for him to gloat about. Irrespective of whether or not the Houston native has an official time, there is no denying his speed on the field and no defender in the NFL will feel comfortable matching up against him.
