Jaylen Waddle is an American professional football wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League as of 2024. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins as the sixth pick in the first round. At the time, this decision was not seen as the best one by the franchise and many fans were also not convinced. Starting out slow in the first few games, Waddle then hit his stride and moved into top gear. Since then, he has turned into a different receiver and the credit for the same goes to his wide receiver coach Wes Walker who has worked on his game.
Born in Houston, Texas he attended Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas where he played on the school’s football team as a receiver as well as a kick returner. With many college options available, Waddle decided to go to Alabama University and play his college ball with the Crimson Tide. At Alabama, Waddle had a very productive freshman year with 45 receptions for 848 yards and seven touchdowns. He was named the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2018. Over the course of his next two years, Waddle continued to perform at a high level both as a receiver and as a special teams player. In 2021, he decided to forgo his senior year of college to enter the draft.

Is Jaylen Waddle fast
Unofficially though, he is said to have run a 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds which is a very quick speed. Even though there is no official record from the NFL combine as Waddle chose not to participate in the 40-yard dash after Covid postponed the event, he is still one of the fastest players in the NFL today. Nevertheless, irrespective of his exact speed, on the field Waddle has already shown how fast he can run and make the defender's life miserable.
How tall is Jaylen Waddle
Jaylen Waddle stands at 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall. He is not considered in the tallest receiver category and is a shade under the average height of an NFL receiver which is 6 feet. However, his lack of height is a non-issue in most cases as his burst of speed is already a huge advantage for him.
How much does Jaylen Waddle weigh
Jaylen Waddle has a slender frame as he weighs 185 lb. (84 kg). His slim frame is ideal in helping him achieve the speed he needs to get ahead of the defenders. However, playing in the NFL which is one of the most physical and brutal sports, Waddle may want to bulk up his strength and add on a bit more weight to be more effective in breaking tackles.
Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill
Jaylen Waddle came to the Miami Dolphins in 2021 after they drafted him with the sixth overall pick. The next year in 2022, Tyreek Hill was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins. This gave the Dolphins two of the fastest players let alone wide receivers in the NFL. When their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was healthy, the trio combined very well to form an explosive offense. Unfortunately, though Tua has had injury concerns over his three-year career, if he can stay fit for the season then he has some of the best weapons on his team.
The 2023 NFL season looks to be an exciting one especially if you are a Miami Dolphins fan. The team should have better chemistry now and have also acquired a few more good players on their roster. And with both Waddle and Hill making quick, long runs, the deep ball threat will always be on the cards.
