American football wide receiver Jermaine Demetrius Burton was born on June 28, 2001, in Calabasas, California. He is a big-stage player entering the 2024 NFL Draft as he’s appeared in four different Bowls. Burton participated in the NFL 2024 Combine ranking 12th among WRs in terms of total score (79). He put up a prospect grade of 6.22 and is called to eventually become a starter. Burton also had impressive numbers in terms of Production Score (83) which was 16th highest among wide receivers.

Burton has an appealing size and is a fit to be in contested situations. Possessing excellent ball skills he has a second gear to go head-to-head with the cornerbacks in the NFL. Being compared to Saints’ Kenny Stills as he’s predicted to be drafted in the 5th round by the NFL analysts.

Jermaine Burton All High Schools

Burton attended three different high schools in his career. He was at Hapeville Charter Academy growing up in Georgia ending up with decent numbers. Burton decided to move to IMG Academy at the end of the 2017 season (junior year) and had 40 catches for 863 yards scoring four touchdowns. He was named to the USA Today 2018 All-USA California First Team offence.

Burton within a year at IMG Academy decided to move back to Marietta due to personal reasons. However, after the Georgia High School Association changed its rules, Burton was no longer qualified to complete his high school education in Marietta, which was close to his family's house. As a result, he had to explore options outside of Georgia finding his way to his birthplace and transferring to Calabasas High School where he spent his final two seasons.

Burton defeated seniors Jadon Haselwood and Dominick Blaylock, who rank first and fifth among receivers in the 2019 class according to 247Sports composite rankings, to win the wide receiver MVP award at the Opening Atlanta Regional. He was also ranked 8th among wide receivers nationally while 247Sports marked him as a four-star prospect coming out of high school. Moreover, Burton was also included in the Top 150 Dream Team, ranked 99th by ESPN and was invited to The Opening Finals twice.

Jermaine Burton College

Jermaine Burton committed to The Georgia Bulldogs in 2020. He played in all 10 games during his freshman season catching 27 passes for 404 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Burton spent two seasons a Georgia ending up with 24 game appearances and totalling 26 catches for 497 yards and five touchdowns and also leading among all wideouts as a sophomore.

Burton chose to transfer to Alabama Crimson Tide receiving a rotational position in his first year. He was tied for sixth in the SEC for touchdown catches with seven while he totalled 40 receptions for a team-high 677 yards. Burton was also selected to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award as he earned preseason All-America honours from Pro Football Focus.
