J’Kaylin Dobbins, commonly known as J. K. Dobbins is an American football running back playing for the Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL as of 2024. He began his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens after being selected as the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Before joining the Chargers in the 2024 offseason, he spent his first four years with the Ravens. He started his NFL career by appearing in 15 games in his rookie year, even though he started in only one of those. However, his second year was cut short because he tore his ACL in the preseason and didn’t see any action on the field for the whole season. His next two years were also plagued with various injuries as he was only able to play in nine games during that period. Dobbins was a given prove-it one-year deal by the Chargers in the 2024 offseason.
Revisiting the early years of Dobbins’ life, he was born in Houston, Texas. His football career began at La Grange High School. He concluded his high school football career by rushing over 5000 yards and scoring 74 total touchdowns. A four-star prospect coming out of High School, Dobbins opted for the Ohio State University in 2017. During his three years playing for the Buckeyes, the 2019 First-team All-Big Ten honoree accumulated 4,459 yards on the ground and 645 receiving yards.
