Joseph Lee Burrow is an American football quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. The Bengals drafted Burrow with the first overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow recorded 2688 yards during his rookie season, prior to sustaining a season-ending injury in Week 11. The following season, he was named 21st on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022 by his teammates, after recording 34 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and 520 attempted passes for 4611 yards. With 414 completions and 4,475 throwing yards at the end of the 2022 NFL season, he was rated fifth in the NFL. In 2023, Burrow played 10 games and concluded the season with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Burrow initially played collegiate football at Ohio State University in 2015, where he redshirted through his freshman season. In the following two seasons combined, Burrow appeared in 10 games. In 2018, Burrow graduated from Ohio State and transferred to Louisiana State University. During his first year at LSU, Burrow started all 13 games while recording 3,292 yards. Burrow had his breakout season in 2019, where he won the CFP National Championship, along with winning CFP National Championship Game Offensive MVP and SEC Offensive Player of the Year. He was also the recipient of the Heisman Memorial Trophy, AP National Player of the Year, Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award and Walter Camp Award. He also received Unanimous All-American and First-team All-SEC honors. Prior to playing to playing collegiate football, Burrow played high school football at Athens High School.

According to Draftsharks, Burrow has suffered numerous injuries during his four-year NFL career, as of October 2024. In November 2020, Burrow sustained a big hit which tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and meniscus ligaments in his left knee, followed by a finger dislocation in December 2021. Burrow sustained two knee injuries in January and February 2022 respectively. In 2023, he suffered a calf strain in June, followed by a wrist ligament tear in November.

Knee Meniscus Tear, Knee PCL Tear Grade III, Knee MCL Tear Grade III, Knee ACL Tear Grade III (2020)

On 22nd November, 2020, Burrow sustained a partial tear to his meniscus, a partial tear to his PCL, and torn MCL and ACL ligaments in his left knee during the Week 11 game against Washington. He was placed on injury reserve and was ruled out for the season.

Hand Finger Dislocation (2021)

On 5th December, 2021, Burrow dislocated his little finger during the Week 13 game against the Chargers.

Knee Strain Grade I (2022)

Burrow sustained a knee sprain during the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs on 2nd January, 2022.

Knee MCL Sprain Grade II (2022)

Burrow sprained his MCL towards the end of the Super Bowl LVI against the Rams on 13th February, 2022.

Leg Calf Strain (2023)

Burrow sustained a right calf strain on during the off-season practice on 27th July, 2023. However, after not missing a single game due to the injury, Burrow reportedly re-aggravated his injury during the Week 2 game against the Ravens.

Hand Wrist Ligament Tear (2023)

On 16th November, 2023, Burrow sustained a torn Scapholunate ligament in his right wrist during the Week 11 game against the Ravens. He underwent surgery and missed out on the 2023 NFL season.

Hand Wrist Fracture (2017)

According to DraftSharks, Burrow sustained a broken bone in his right wrist during an off-season practice on 14th August, 2017. He underwent surgery and missed out on the start of the season.

Chest Rib Fracture (2020)

Burrow sustained a torn rib cartilage during the CFP National Championship game against Clemson on 16th January, 2020.
