Joe Flacco is a professional American footballer who plays as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Flacco's professional career started in the year 2008 when he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round as the 18th overall pick of the NFL draft 2008.

He signed a deal of five years worth $30 million with the Baltimore Ravens. In a game against the Cincinnati Bengals he made his NFL debut. In the following match, he recorded 15 passes for 129 yards and a rushing touchdown as the Ravens won 17-10 and due to his brilliant performance, he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He become the first rookie quarterback to win two playoff games against the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans and was named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.

2012 was the best year of Flacco's NFL career as he led the Baltimore Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers. In a closely fought out battle, the Ravens overcame the 49ers by a score of 34-31 and Flacco was also named the MVP as he registered 287 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns, throwing for 22 completions from 33 attempts. He also had an excellent 124.2 passer rating in the Super Bowl.

Flacco would continue with the Ravens until 2019 when they traded him to the Denver Broncos. In a match against the Oakland Raiders, he made his team debut where in the following game, Flacco threw for 268 yards and a touchdown. After playing for one year, he was released by the Broncos and signed a deal of one year of worth $1.5 million with the New York Jets. In March 2021, he signed another one year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. However in October 2021, the Eagles traded him back to the Jets. Flacco last played for the Jets in the 2022 season. He was a free agent until the Cleveland Browns picked him up in November 2023 as a replacement for Deshaun Watson, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. He went 4-1 as a starter with the Cleveland and led them to the playoffs. In March 2024, Indianapolis Colts signed him to a 1-year deal.

In 2005 he transferred to the University of Delaware and completed his 2006 season with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and also set 20 school records.

Flaco married his wife Dana in 2011 and has five children. His brothers also played in the NFL. He weighs around 245 lb (111 kg) and is 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) tall.
