New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has an estimated net worth of $2.5 million. He is one of the youngest NFL executives and has been rising up the ranks for quite some time. Schoen's impact has been felt throughout the Giants franchise, as the team plays with much more focus and impetus.
In this article, we will also take a look at his tenure as GM of the Giants and some of his goals for the former Super Bowl champions.
When did Joe Schoen become Giants GM?
Joe Schoen became the GM of the New York Giants on January 21, 2022. He has more than 20 years of NFL experience as a personnel executive and scout and is in his second year as the team's general manager.

According to the New York Giants website, Schoen spent the first season of his tenure as GM retooling the franchise's front office. He hired Brian Daboll and restructured a by-then stale roster of underachieving players.
It's important to note that Brian Daboll was brought in just a week after Schoen was elevated to GM by the Giants. Both Daboll and Schoen had a previously worked together for four years with the Buffalo Bills. Daboll's expertise not only fueled the Giants' return to relevance, but earned him the NFL Coach of the Year award.
Furthermore, Schoen made the executive decision to strengthen the Giants' organization by drafting numerous expert personnel. There was the addition of assistant general manager Brandon Brown, director of pro scouting Chris Rosetti, and associate director of player personnel Dennis Hickey.
Each of these additions was important to revamp the franchise, as they were elite technocrats in their fields. Joe Schoen also retained existing talents, Kevin Abrams and Tim McDonnell.
The GM has been around football his enitre life. He was a quarterback and later a wide receiver during his tenure at DePauw University, even serving as the team's captain in his senior year. While he couldn't make it to the NFL as a player, he sure did the most as a front office exec.
How have the Giants performed under Joe Schoen?
The New York Giants have performed admirably under their vibrant new general manager. The franchise, once a laughing stock in the NFL, experienced a rebirth in 2022.
They finished with nine regular-season victories, five more than in 2021, earning their first postseason berth in six years and winning their first playoff game since 2011.
This was done thanks to the stellar front office work of Schoen, excellent coaching by Brian Daboll, and inspired performances by the players.
It remains to be seen whether 2023 will be as successful as the Giants have started the season with a 1-3 record. However, if there's anything we've noticed about Schoen, it's that he's already hard at work to steady the ship!
