Kansas City Chiefs left guard Joseph Thuney was born on November 18, 1992. During his time at Archbishop Alter High School, he played in two D4S championships. He was the class president and the Greater Catholic League Lineman of the Year in his senior year. Further, he went to North Carolina State University from 2011 to 2015, where he became the first NC State offensive lineman to be selected as an All-American since 1979 and was also named first-team All-ACC in the same year.

The New England Patriots selected Thuney, the 78th pick overall, in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The same year, the Patriots team played at the Super Bowl LI and he was named All-Rookie Team by PFWA. Thuney’s three consecutive Super Bowl appearances at the start of his career make him the only player in NFL history to do so. He was named to the 2019 and 2022 Second Team All-Pro team. Thuney also made it as the First-team All-Pro for the second time in his career in the 2024 NFL season. He is a four-time Super Bowl champion in LI, LIII, LLVII, and LVIII. In 2021, he had a new contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for five years worth $80 million, as per Spotrac. According to Pro Football Reference, he has played 146 games in his career by the end of the 2024 regular season.
