Joey Bosa is an American professional football linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League. He was the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He is a talented player but because of his injuries, Bosa has been less than stellar in his last two seasons. He is one of the best pass rushers in the league. Since he is 28 years of age, Bosa currently has a win-now mentality and is looking to win his first Super Bowl trophy. He has only been to the playoffs two times and is looking to turn things around for the Los Angeles Chargers. Bosa is the son of former NBA player John Bosa and his brother, Nick Bosa, also plays in the NFL. When he was in high school, Bosa could play both football and basketball but ultimately decided to play football for his career. Bosa was ranked as a four-star recruit and was the fourth-best defensive end in his class.
Bosa is an elite pass rusher and a strong run defender. He has a relentless motor and a variety of moves that allow him to consistently get to the quarterback. Over the years, his injury history has been growing and his inconsistency is costing him games and minutes on the field. He is still an effective player but he is not the same player he was when he entered the league and is no longer a lock to be a Pro Bowler every year. It is still too early to determine if Bosa is on the downside of his career. He has been a four-time pro bowler but has only played 14 games in the last two seasons where he started in nine of them. Bosa only has 14 quarterback hits in the last two seasons combined but had 20 in the 2021 season alone.
