On Monday Night Football, brothers John and Jim Harbaugh faced off for the first time since the latter's return to the NFL. John's Baltimore Ravens came out on top against Jim's Los Angeles Chargers by a narrow scoreline of 30-23.

It was the third time the siblings have battled as head coaches in the NFL. They met twice during Jim's stint with the San Francisco 49ers, once in the regular season in 2011 and the second time in the Super Bowl in the following campaign, a game now remembered as the "Harbaugh Bowl."

John and the Ravens have dominated Jim, and have a perfect 3-0 record against the Chargers head coach. Here are the details of the first two meetings between the two.

John Harbaugh vs. Jim Harbaugh games

1. Baltimore Ravens 16-6 San Francisco 49ers - 2011

The first game between the two head coaches happened in Week 12 of the 2011 NFL season. The 7-3 Ravens hosted the 9-1 49ers at M&T Bank Stadium in a slugfest that finished 16-6 in the home team's favor.

Tight end Dennis Pitta caught the game's only touchdown pass as Baltimore's defense sacked quarterback Alex Smith nine times and limited San Francisco to only two field goals.

2. Baltimore Ravens 34-31 San Francisco 49ers, Super Bowl XLVII

Unlike the first meeting between the two, where the stakes were relatively low, the second duel between the Harbaugh brothers was on the grandest stage possible. Also unlike the first game, a defensive slugfest, this was an electric high-scoring affair, which the Ravens won narrowly.

Apart from Jacoby Jones' 108-yard touchdown run at the start of the second half, and the high-octane display from both offenses, the game is also remembered for its ingenious finish.

With 11 seconds left on the clock, Baltimore took an intentional safety to run out the clock instead of punting the ball back to the 49ers and giving quarterback Colin Kaepernick a chance to throw a Hail Mary.

The Ravens' special teams took seven seconds off the clock and tackled kick returner Ted Ginn Jr. on the final play to win the Super Bowl.

The game on Monday night between Baltimore and LA was John and Jim's first meeting since the "Harbaugh Bowl."
