Jonathan Taylor injury update: Colts RB's return status and fantasy outlook for Sunday's NFL Week 11 game

Indianapolis Colts v Las Vegas Raiders
Indianapolis Colts v Las Vegas Raiders

Jonathan Taylor participated fully in practice on Thursday and Friday last week. He didn't carry an injury designation for the game last week against the Las Vegas Raiders. Taylor had missed three of the Indianapolis Colts' previous five games due to a sprained ankle that had subsequently gotten worse. Still, he was able to participate completely in training on consecutive days to finish Week 10 preparation, which seemed to put him in good health enough to start.

Jonathan Taylor's snap rate last week reached a season-high thanks to Nyheim Hines' absence. He put on his second-best performance of the year. It was the first time since the opening round of games that he finished among the top 20 running backs, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Although the Philadelphia Eagles have been outstanding, Jonathan Taylor can still compete with them. Taylor should be able to return to the RB1 position. Managers should get him started.

Jonathan Taylor's stats and fantasy prediction

In the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Jonathan Taylor received both of his targets for 16 yards and also ran the ball on 22 occasions for 147 yards with a touchdown. Before the game, Jonathan Taylor was able to fully heal from the injuries that caused him to sit out three games over the previous five weeks. Taylor exceeded 100 running yards and into the end zone for the first time since Week 1, as he appeared to be in perfect health.

Matt Ryan, who started as a quarterback instead of Sam Ehlinger, probably helped prevent the Las Vegas defensive unit from filling the box against the run. Still, this week's opposition will be more difficult.

In the past two games against the Houston Texans and the Washington Commanders, the Eagles have surrendered 320 yards and two scores on the ground.

Last week, Taylor received 85.7% of the touches at running back for the Colts, rewarding his persistent fantasy owners. That was his second-best percentage of the year. Now that Jeff Saturday is the new head coach, Taylor looks much like the player you selected with the first overall choice at the start of the season.

Following the league's announcement, Taylor was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday morning.

In season 3, Taylor has had a difficult time. He has struggled with a bothersome ankle issue for the first time in his career, and the team's offense has been in disarray for most of the season.

With Jeff Saturday as interim head coach, the Colts are looking to get back into playoff contention. If they want to achieve that, they'll need more performances like the last time from Taylor in the remaining games.
