Jonathan Taylor is an American football running back for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. The Colts selected Taylor as the 41st pick in the second round of the the 2020 NFL Draft. He became a regular in his rookie year, appearing in 15 games and recorded 232 rushing attempts for 1,169 yards. In the 2021 NFL season, Taylor led the league with 332 rushing attempts, 1,811 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. As of October 2024, Taylor appeared in 53 games, having 925 attempts for 4,618 yards and scoring 40 touchdowns.

Growing up in New Jersey, Taylor attended Salem High School. He finished his high school career with 4,642 rushing yards and scoring 51 touchdowns. Taylor began his collegiate career with the Univesity of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. In his freshman year, Taylor reached the 1000 rushing yards in Week 7 matching the FBS record. During his three-year collegiate career, Taylor received three First-team All-Big Ten and two Unanimous All-American honors in 2018 and 2019 respectively. He also received Big-Ten Running Back of the Year and the Doak Walker Award twice in 2018 and 2019.

Taylor sustained an ankle sprain in November 2020, followed by knee strain in September 2021. In 2022, Taylor suffered an ankle injury twice in October and December, where he also underwent surgery. Taylor sustained a torn thumb ligament in November 2023. As of October 2024, he suffered an ankle sprain in September.

Jonathan Taylor sustained an ankle sprain during the Week 5 game against Detroit Lions on 1st November, 2020. He was available and back in action for the next week's game.

Knee Strain Grade 1 (2021)

According to DraftSharks, Taylor suffered a nagging knee injury on 29th September, 2021, which hindered his participation in practice before the Week 4 match.

Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade 2 (2022)

On 2nd October, 2022, Taylor sprained his ankle during the Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade 3 (2022)

In December 2020, Taylor re-injured his ankle and underwent a cleanup surgery on 25th January, 2023. However, no damage was found, according to DraftSharks.

Hand to Thumb Torn Ligament (2023)

Taylor sustained a torn ligament in his right thumb during the Week 12 game against the Buccaneers on 26th November, 2023. However, he underwent surgery and and returned in late-December.

Pedal Ankle (high) Sprain Grade 3 (2024)

In the fourth quarter of the Colts' 27–24 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in September 2024, Taylor sustained a high ankle injury. He missed the game the following week and is expected to return shortly, as of October 2024.
