Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor might miss the Week 9 game against the New England Patriots this Sunday. Taylor is the leading running back for the Colts and has already missed two games this season due to an ankle sprain. Taylor is back on the injury list, which has caused concern among his fantasy owners. This is made worse by six teams being on a bye in Week 9.
Taylor suffered another ankle injury in the Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders. The Indianapolis Colts lost the game 16-17 and Taylor rushed for 76 yards from 16 attempts. Although the injury is not serious, he has missed practice this week. He was absent on Wednesday and Thursday, which makes him a real question mark ahead of Sunday's game.
The Colts are monitoring Jonathan Taylor and will accordingly take any action. As of now, it is not clear whether he will play. The Colts are in real need of a win after a rocky start to the season, however, they are unlikely to risk further injury to such a key player.

Jonathan Taylor fantasy outlook
If you have Taylor on your fantasy roster then we would suggest you bench him this week. It won't be easy for fantasy managers as they already have limited options as six teams have their bye weeks. The issue is that even if Taylor plays, he will see fewer snaps and potentially lose you your matchup.
If Taylor misses the game, the Colts will play a combination of Deon Jackson and Zack Moss in Sunday's game. After Taylor missed two games this season, Jackson had 25 rushing attempts for 104 yards with a rushing touchdown. He added 108 receiving yards on 14 receptions and 14 targets. If Jackson is available, he is definitely worth picking up.
Taylor has started six games this season and has recorded 462 rushing yards and a touchdown from 107 attempts. He has also added 71 yards and a touchdown through the air. When fully healthy, the running back is a force and could return to the form he displayed in the 2021 season.
Jonathan Taylor was fantastic last season, where he recorded 18 touchdowns and 1,811 rushing yards. He doesn't seem anywhere close to last season but is still a decent fantasy point earner. Taylor earned 333 fantasy points last season, averaging 19.6 points per game.
