As a five-star recruit, he received offers from several football programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and Wake Forest. Despite receiving offers from these renowned institutions, he decided to commit to playing college football for the University of South Carolina. After spending three seasons from 2020 to 2022 with South Carolina, he entered the transfer portal and subsequently moved to the University of Oregon, where he currently represents the Oregon Ducks.
Over his three-season tenure at South Carolina, Burch emerged as a standout player amassing an impressive 105 tackles including 55 solo tackles, 4.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in all 33 games.
During the 2023 season with the Oregon Ducks, he concluded the season with 34 tackles comprising 13 solo tackles, three sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss in all 14 games played.
