Josh Allen College
In 2014, Allen went to Reedley College in California for his first year. He had a pretty good outing in his rookie year as he featured in 10 games and started 6 of them. He developed into a dual-threat quarterback with more than decent rushing stats as well as excellent passing stats. In 127 completions, he threw for over 2,000 yards while adding 26 touchdowns against 5 interceptions. He also ran for 660 yards in 120 attempts and found himself running into the endzone on 10 occasions. At 6 feet 5 inches and 210 lbs, and with a great year behind him, Allen was expecting to receive multiple transfer opportunities but he was left disheartened as the only real offer came from the University of Wyoming.
For the rest of his college journey, Josh Allen transferred from Reedley College to the University of Wyoming. At Wyoming, Allen’s first year was hindered by a collarbone injury which kept him out for the season after featuring only in two games. Luckily for him, as the injury was very early in the season, he was able to redshirt the year on medical grounds. Next year in 2016, Allen returned to the team as the starting quarterback and had a massive season. In 14 games, he passed for over 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Contemplating going pro after 2016, Allen finally decided to enter the NFL draft and told his close friends and family about his decision. However, the Wyoming Cowboys’ offensive coordinator called up the Allen household and convinced them that staying back in college one more year would ultimately be beneficial for Josh in the long run. Overturning his own decision, Allen completed another year at Wyoming before declaring for the NFL Draft in 2018.
