Josh Allen is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today. His dual-threat ability is one of the reasons the Buffalo Bills are among the most favored teams for the Super Bowl. The Bills are a tremendous side, but they need Allen under center.
For the past two weeks, Allen has been nursing an injury to his throwing elbow, which is limiting his throwing ability. Allen sprained his elbow during the loss to the New York Jets on November 6, but he has not sat out any games since.
On Tuesday, November 22, Allen was spotted throwing at practice - without a brace on his elbow - for the first time since the injury.
The brace may explain the trying time he had against the Cleveland Browns. He put up season-lows in almost all categories in the matchup. Nevertheless, thanks to his participation in practice without a brace or throwing sleeve, Allen is expected to start Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions.

How is Josh Allen performing this season?
Josh Allen is having another brilliant season, even by his insanely high standards. He is on pace to break most of his personal records and lead the Buffalo Bills to another deep playoff run. Allen is the leader of the Bills and he is certainly leading by example. He has recorded 2,930 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while also rushing for 483 yards and four rushing touchdowns this season.
Allen has been a solid playmaker ever since he was drafted by the Bills out of Wyoming. The current-day MVP contender has accumulated career stats of 17,044 passing yards, 124 passing touchdowns, 35 rushing touchdowns, and 2,808 yards in 71 regular season games.
How are the Buffalo Bills performing this season?
The Buffalo Bills have been NFL playoff regulars for the past few seasons and have evolved into Super Bowl hopefuls. Many critics, fans, and players think the Bills can give the Kansas City Chiefs a run for the AFC crown this season.
The Bills currently have a record of 7-3 and are second in the AFC East. They've recorded solid victories over potential bogey teams like the Los Angeles Rams (before the downturn in form), the Kansas City Chiefs, the Green Bay Packers, and the Baltimore Ravens.
The Buffalo Bills are looking strong and their players know they can go all the way this season. That could be why Josh Allen is playing through the pain; maybe it's finally time to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo.
