Is Josh Allen a good fantasy pick in Week 3?
When Josh Allen lost his favorite targets in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis to the AFC South, many thought that he was done being an elite quarterback. After all, that position is often (if not always) defined by the quality of his receivers; and the Bills seemed to lack plenty of it.
Instead, Allen dominated against the Cardinals, finding Khalil Shakir and Mack Hollins in the endzone and finishing with over 232 yards from 18 completions.
Four days later, at the Miami Dolphins, he was not as prolific, with only 139 yards; but he found James Cook in the end zone and played game manager very well as the defense did the rest.
Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Allen has two primary targets to elude before either rushing or passing: edge rushers Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker - both being proven prolific sack machines.
Past them, though, the secondary has been momentarily crippled by the loss of Tyson Campbell, leaving Andre Cisco to man a shorthanded squad.
Is Kyler Murray a good fantasy pick in Week 3?
For the first time in his career, Kyler Murray has a monstrous offensive core: James Conner, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride.
While their potential was not on display at the Bills, the three shockingly exploded against the Los Angeles Rams. Harrison humiliated the secondary with two touchdowns, one of them for 60 yards. Conner rushed once for six, while McBride turned a fumble by him into a touchdown.
However, such heroics may be difficult to come by against the Detroit Lions, who boast a good defense led by Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson, who sacked Bayker Mayfield 4.5 times in a 20-16 defeat vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Other key players who could trouble Murray include linebackers Alex Anzalone, Derrick Barnes and Jack Campbell and a monstrous secondary that features Carlton Davis, Terrion Arnold, Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch.
Whom should I pick between Josh Allen and Kyler Murray?
Two weeks after Josh Allen last met Kyler Murray, the Start/Sit Optimizer gives him the advantage despite a seemingly shallow wideout corps.
While the Jaguars' edge rushers are undeniably dangerous for him, the defensive backs haven't not truly broken out, leaving Allen with plenty of opportunities to continue proving his detractors wrong.
For Kyler Murray, meanwhile, the ways with the Lions are numerous. The Cardinals' offensive line is not as strong as the Lions' front seven, while Marvin Harrison Jr. may get overburdened against an equally strong secondary, with sophomore WR2 Michael Wilson nowhere his dominating ability.
