Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson was drafted in the third round of this year's NFL Draft to help the thin Steelers wide receiver corps.

The Steelers needed to add a wideout in this year's draft with the position (outside of George Pickens) lacking multiple playmakers in recent times. The team also traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers this offseason.

During his four seasons at the University of Michigan, Wilson caught 107 passes for 1,707 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

Roman Wilson's rookie season began with a delay. After injuring his ankle in training camp, Wilson missed the rest of the preseason and has missed the first two games of the 2024 season.

Today, the Steelers got some positive news about his health, as Wilson was a full-participant in Thursday's practice. Last Thursday, Wilson was a full-participant, but was limited in Friday's practice. Tomorrow's practice should give a better indication of if Wilson will play this wekeend or not.

Wilson spoke to the media this week in practice and is hopeful he will make his NFL debut on Sunday.

Wilson said:

“I hope I get to play. It’s not up to me. Every day I come into this building, I just do what I can to get ready for the game. I just come here and practice hard and do what I’ve got to do, one day at a time. … Every day I feel like I come in here and get a little bit better. That’s all I can really focus on, having a good attitude and getting better every day.”
