The Patriots drafted Josh Uche in the second round in 2020. He played college football at Michigan for four years.

Uche had initially signed a reported four-year, $5.389 million rookie deal with the Patriots.

During his spell in New England, Uche appeared in 58 games for the Patriots and had four starts for the franchise. He tallied 76 tackles, of which 58 were solo, while recording 20.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble return.

Uche's best season with the Patriots came in 2022 when he posted a career-high 11.5 sacks with nine tackles for loss and 14 QB hits.

This season, Uche has recorded 2.0 sacks with two tackles for loss and three QB hits in seven games. He also played in the Patriots' Week 8 win over the New York Jets. The pass rusher will now take his services from New England to Kansas City for the rest of the 2024 season.

With the Chiefs, Uche will be part of a defense aiming to win its third consecutive Super Bowl. He will also work closely with Defensive Player of the Year candidate Chris Jones.

The Chiefs have had a perfect start to the season and are at the top of the AFC West with a 7-0 record. However, the team has had to deal with injuries to key players throughout the season.

Kansas City will hope that Uche can add more stability to its defense as it targets a three-peat.
