In 2022, Joshua Palmer, a wideout in his second season, has been greatly relied upon by the Los Angeles Chargers. However, for fantasy football players, the question still is: is Joshua Palmer worth starting in Week 9? What is Palmer's fantasy outlook for the rest of the 2022-23 season?
No other defensive unit in the NFL has given up more passing yards than the Atlanta Falcons. As a result, wideouts have received the second-highest fantasy points from them this season. Palmer had a strong start this week with Mike Williams out, and Keenan Allen headed in that direction.
The Chargers will be determined to win following their bye week, after suffering a crushing loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks. Palmer should play a significant role, and fantasy managers should start him.

Joshua Palmer's stats and fantasy prediction
Due to the absence of Los Angeles' top wideouts, Palmer's target share increased from 7.5 percent last season to 16.7 percent this season. In his most recent game, Joshua Palmer caught nine of 12 targets. He returns after missing Week 7 due to a concussion.
In three games this season, Joshua Palmer had eight or more targets. Keenan Allen's prolonged absence is the main cause of Palmer's increased usage. Due to a persistent hamstring issue, Allen missed practice on Wednesday and is in danger of missing his sixth game of the year.
On Sunday, Josh Palmer might start as Justin Herbert's primary wideout against the Atlanta Falcons.
Palmer has had three top-36 finishes, making him a worthy flex alternative. He will get a greenfield chance for fantasy if Keenan Allen is out due to a hamstring issue. He would play the WR1 position, a profitable one in fantasy football, for Los Angeles' air raid attack.
Luckily, Palmer also has the benefit of the opposition. The best matchup for wideouts this season has been against the Falcons. No side has allowed the position to score more fantasy points per game. They also rank first in the NFL for the number of receiving yards given to wide receivers.
The Falcons have let receivers catch 53 receptions for 823 yards and six scores in their last three games. That equates to roughly 58 PPR points per game. AJ Terrell won't likely play for the Atlanta Falcons, either.
Will Joshua Palmer play in Week 9?
Joshua Palmer was required to sit out the Los Angeles Chargers' last game against the Seattle Seahawks after sustaining a head injury in Week 6, against the Denver Broncos. Palmer has had plenty of time to heal, considering the Chargers had a bye last week.
Palmer has started training with the team after clearing the NFL's concussion protocol, according to Brandon Staley on Tuesday.
Both this week's Wednesday and Thursday practice schedules have Palmer listed as a full participant. Palmer also voiced his confidence in his readiness to play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.
