Julian Edelman is an American former football player who played In the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons. He got selected by the New England Patriots as the overall twenty-seventh pick in the 7th round of the NFL 2009 draft and he performed as a wide receiver for the team.

He signed a deal of four years with the Patriots on July 16, 2009. He knew that he lacked the capacity to play as a quarterback so he prepared himself to play at other positions aside from quarterback. He performed his first game in opposition to the Philadelphia Eagles. His first Super Bowl appearance came in 2011 and played as a punt and kick returner. Edelman becomes a free agent after the 2012 season. The next year, though, he re-signed a deal of one year with New England on April 10, 2013. He performed excellently in the following season and became a free agent again.

Edelman signed a deal of four year of worth $17 million with the Patriots. His first Super Bowl win came in the 2014 season and he was ranked 91st by his teammates on the list of Top 100 players of the NFL 2015. Edelman signed an extension of two year of worth $11 million but he got injured and tore his ACL and he also missed the 2017 season. Edelman was ready to play the 2018 season but he was suspended because he was found using performance-enhancing drugs. He missed four games of the season and played his comeback game against Indianapolis Colts. He finished the postseason with 26 receptions for 388 yards and became the first Jewish football player to be named Super Bowl MVP.

Edelman signed an extension of two years worth $18 million with the Patriots and became the first Patriot to report at least 100 yards all season. Edelman performed his very last game against the San Francisco 49ers and underwent a minor knee injury. He announced his retirement from the NFL after playing 12 seasons with the Patriots on April 12, 2021. He announced that he would start a media career after retiring from the NFL.
