Former professional football defensive end and linebacker Julius Frazier Peppers was drafted as the second overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. In his rookie year with the Panthers, Peppers started 12 games recording 35 combined and 28 solo tackles. He was named the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2002. Peppers’ career-high numbers came in his third season at Carolina when he totalled 64 tackles starting all 16 games in 2004.
Peppers before coming back to the Panthers spent seven seasons with two different teams. He left the Panthers after nine seasons and was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2010. He started all 16 games for them for four seasons recording 175 combined, 139 of which were solo.
Peppers signed a three-year contract worth $30 million with the Green Bay Packers on March 15, 2014. Peppers in his career had a 9x Pro Bowl, and 3x First-team All-Pro and was also included in the NFL All-Decade Team twice (2000s,2010s). It was also announced that the Panthers’ legend will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February 2024.
