Justin Barron is a former collegiate football linebacker from Syracuse University. He is from Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and attended Suffield Academy. Barron joined the Syracuse football program in 2020 and played up to the 2024 season. He started his collegiate career as a wide receiver but switched to defense in 2021. Following the 2024 season, he went on to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft and was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl, according to his Instagram account.

As a freshman, Barron primarily played on special teams and had four tackles. In his sophomore year, he was a defensive back with 42 tackles, half a tackle for loss, and three pass breakups. He performed better in his junior year with 64 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and a recovered fumble. His breakout was in 2023. He led the team as a senior with 90 tackles. He contributed five tackles for loss, half a sack, seven pass breakups, one interception, and three forced fumbles, according to Syracuse's official website. As a team captain in his final year, Barron had 86 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery, as per Sports Reference. He was also the Walter Camp Connecticut Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024. At the end of his collegiate career, Barron recorded 294 tackles, the third-most ever by a defensive back at Syracuse. As of April 2025, Justin Barron has signed one NIL deal. He partnered with EA Sports in April 2024. His NIL valuation has not been disclosed, according to On3.
