Justin Herbert is an American Football quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers of NFL. Born in Oregon, former 6th overall pick started his career at Sheldon High School where he played football, basketball as well as baseball. Further, he also co-founded the Sheraton High School Fishing Club while a member of the school. A broken leg complicated his equipment process but he was still named 1st Team All-State and was the Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year. After recruitment offers from Northern Arizona, Portland State, and Montana State, he got FBS offers from Nevada and Oregon. Eventually, Herbert chose to go to Oregon in October 2015. He played for four years with the Ducks from 2016 to 2019, where he threw for more than 10,500 yards while simultaneously scoring 108 total touchdowns through air and on ground.

His rookie season in 2020 saw him win AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. His second season saw him continue his strong play as he threw for more than 5000 plus passing yards, 38 passing touchdowns. Further, he led the team to a 9-8 record and was recognized for his excellent play with his first career Pro Bowl. He completed the 2022-23 season with 4,739 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while leading the Chargers to the playoffs, but lost in the Wild Card Round. Herbert signed a mega contract extension with the Chargers in 2023 worth $262.5 million, making him the NFL’s highest-paid player at that time. However, his 2023 season was cut short due to hand injury. But Herbert still managed to put up more than 3,100 yards in 13 games he played in. He threw for 20 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions that year.
