Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers are entering a key part of their season. With four weeks to go, the Chargers are well-positioned to grab one of the wild card spots in the AFC, with two games over the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins. But their mission could be getting hard.
During their 19-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Week 14's Sunday Night Football, Herbert suffered a sprained ankle that affected his mobility throughout that game. Even though he played all four quarters, his mechanics were not 100%, and he missed some key passes.
His injury became a concern when, on Wednesday, he did not practice due to the ankle problem. On Thursday, however, he was back on the field, albeit on a limited basis. This development is massive:

Should fantasy managers be concerned with Justin Herbert?
Even though he might not be 100%, the fact that the quarterback was back in practice and throwing the football shows that he'll be suiting up for their Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Being cautious during practice is a good thing, but for a quarterback who has missed only four games during his career due to injury, durability is not a problem. His ankle is something to monitor, but fantasy managers could rest easy as he'll be playing on Sunday.
Justin Herbert's stats in the 2024 season
This has been one of the most interesting seasons of his career. The Chargers quarterback currently leads the NFL with a 14/1 TD/INT ratio, which is already impressive enough.
But the important caveat about this stat is that, in 13 games this season, he has only thrown a single interception. His 0.3% interception ratio is by far the best in the league, and he has not been overly careful with the football, as his air yards per attempt are at the highest number of his career (8.19).
He has a 63.9% completion percentage and 2,764 passing yards. The Chargers have gotten a lot of credit due to their defense, but Herbert is playing solid ball and the team is in the playoff picture as a result.
